The city has some awesome public parks with a couple of splash fountains for cooling off during the summer. In the fall be sure to check out Schilter Family Farm with it’s pumpkin patch, corn maze, rides, games food and more. In winter, be sure to check out Oly on Ice for some ice skating fun.

Take a gander throughout the Olympia Downtown Historic District, which covers 17 blocks and has 41 contributing properties. From the historic district, head to Percival Landing Park. This wooden boardwalk lines the waterfront with picturesque views and several restaurants along the boardwalk. From there you can head to the Olympia Farmers Market to check out what the local farms have available, which varies by time of year, as well as the handmade work of many local artisans.

If entertainment is your jam, catch a show at the historic Capitol Theater.

If shopping is up your alley, there are a few places to check out. Downtown Olympia has a variety of shops where you can find everything from books, unique children’s toys, clothing boutiques, and art galleries. You can also find more shopping at Capital Mall, where you can find both national and larger chains, as well as many small local businesses.

Don’t forget that there are a LOT of outdoor activities to enjoy in Olympia.

There is something to see during every season of the year at Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge. Walking trails abound in parks such as: Millersylvania State park, Tolmie State Park, Priest Point Park, Mima Mounds and so many more.
